Kuldeep Yadav can play in Sydney ODI: Parthiv Patel
New Delhi, October 23 (IANS). Former Indian cricket team wicketkeeper-batsman Parthiv Patel said that Kuldeep Yadav might get a chance in India’s playing XI in the third ODI against Australia. Kuldeep Yadav did not get a chance to play in the first 2 matches of the series. Parthiv Patel on GeoHotstar said, “We will definitely see Kuldeep Yadav play in the third ODI. In terms of the combination, India will have to rely on their top order, whether it performs or not. There is no need for extra support in the batting. Kuldeep Yadav can provide the vital wickets in the middle overs that India can take out early in the batting order. With that. Can’t batsmen constantly add to compensate. The focus must be on the best combination to win.” On a lighter note, he said: “The support staff should let captain Shubman Gill practice the toss on the way to Sydney, as the toss has played a big role so far. The ball swung a lot, just like in Perth. However, Australia won the series 2-0. I think India played commendable cricket here, especially considering the limited time they had.” Kuldeep Yadav was not played in Perth ODI. Australia kept Adam Zampa in the eleven. They benefited from this. Zampa played an important role in Australia’s victory by taking 4 wickets and was the player of the match. Had India kept Kuldeep Yadav in the play-off eleven, the outcome of the match could have been reversed. Kuldeep Yadav took 181 wickets in 113 ODIs. –IANS PAK Share this story Tags
