The Chief Minister has called on all the eligible senior citizens and their families to apply in time to utilize this scheme. She said she requested all the qualifying elders and disabled people to come forward and utilize these schemes. The Delhi government is currently pension to approximately 3.8 lakh women, 4.6 Lakh elderly and 1.3 lakh disabled. The government spends about Rs 1140 crore on pension funds annually. During the last election, the BJP announced an increase in this pension with Rs 500, which will increase the additional burden on the government. However, this increase has not yet been implemented.
