Syria is drowning in the dark .. What is the reason?
Around the clock – Syria witnessed a general outage of electrical current throughout the country, as a result of a technical defect that afflicted the electrical system, according to what the Electricity Transmission and Distribution Foundation announced.
The Director General of the Foundation, Eng. Khaled Abu De, confirmed that the technical teams are working to repair breakdowns and restore electricity as quickly as possible.
Syria suffers from an aggravated electricity crisis due to the damage to the infrastructure during more than 14 years of war, in addition to international sanctions that hinder maintenance and development. The electricity sector is one of the biggest challenges facing the country in light of its attempts to rebuild its economy.
