Following the arrest of activist Sonam Wangchuk from Leh in connection with the Ladakh violence, police moved him to Jodhpur in Rajasthan. A case is registered against Wangchuk in terms of the National Security Act (NSA). Ladakh police arrested him in Leh on Friday afternoon. Internet services in Leh have also been discontinued as a precaution. Environmental activist and social leader Sonam Wangchuk, who led the protests after the recent violence in Leh, was brought to Jodhpur late Friday night and is being held in the central prison amid close safety. According to sources, special monitoring is done on Wangchuk. The prison administration made additional arrangements for their safety. According to 24 -hour security, CCTV sources of supervision, Sonam Wangchuk was conducted medical examination after reaching the Jodhpur central prison. She is placed in the High Security section of the jail, where she will be under 24 -hour security and CCTV supervision. Asaram Bapu is also in this prison, but in a separate section. Jodhpur Central -Junk, one of the country’s safest prison, is considered one of the safest prisons in the country. Terrorists from Punjab and other countries were held here earlier. Officials said the arrival of Wangchuk and the process of imprisonment was completed amid strict secrecy and close security. The Union Ministry accused Sonam Wangchuk of preaching the youth in Ladakh. According to Leh police, several FIRs were filed against Sonam Wangchuk on September 24 on charges of the protesters for violence, after which they were arrested. The Leh violence killed 4 people in the VII violence, 70 injured in the sixth schedule on September 24, which gave the state status and the safety of sensitive ecosystems of the Ladakh region, large scale violence broke out in Leh. When the situation deteriorated, the security forces fired tear gas peel, loaded with a lathi and set fire to it. Four protesters were killed and about 70 injured. Curfew was imposed in Leh City to restore law and order. Who is Sonam Wangchuk? Sonam Wangchuk is a well -known engineer, teacher and environmental worker from Ladakh. He obtained a mechanical engineering degree to Nit Srinagar and then worked in the field of education and environmental protection. His unique achievements inspired the Bollywood film “Three Idiots”. Sonam Wangchuk is a senior member of Leh Apex Body (Lab).
