Land seized in corruption case sold at auction, prosecutor returns IDR 3.7 billion to state

Cilegon – The Cilegon District Prosecutor’s Office is restoring state finances through the auction of assets confiscated from corruption cases worth IDR 3,793,971,790. The assets being auctioned come from a corruption case of financial misappropriation at a health service institution owned by PT Krakatau Steel, Krakatau Health Service or Bapelkes KS. The assets were confiscated based on the Supreme Court’s decision in the case involving the convicted Andi Gouw. At the request of the Krakatau Health Service, the Cilegon Prosecutor’s Office provided legal assistance with the main goal of restoring and state function of the state and state law. He said the land was being auctioned to cover government losses. He said the remaining unsold land will be auctioned again. “Bought by employees and Andi Gouw, this has been a case for a very long time, from the proceeds of the misappropriation some of these lands were bought. Now the losses caused by Bapelkes employees are worth that amount, to cover the losses there are 75 plots that will be auctioned, of which 33 have just been auctioned,” he said. (haf/haf)
