Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavarov, while addressing the general debate of the United Nations General Assembly, warned the countries against Russia. He also laid conditions to stop the attack on Ukraine. Foreign Minister Lavarov said that Russia will be answered strongly. According to the Xinhua news agency, he said that Western countries are constantly threatening the use of violence against Russia and accusing Moscow of planning to attack NATO countries and the European Union. Russian President Vladimir Putin repeatedly rejected such provocation. Lavarov said that Russia did not have such an intention, nor ever was. As for the Russia-Ukraine conflict, Lavrov said: “Since the president repeatedly said that from the beginning, Russia was ready to negotiate to end the causes of the struggle.” Lavarov said that Russia’s safety and important interests should be a reliable guarantee. The rights of Russians and Russian -speaking people in Ukraine -controlled areas must be restored and respected. Based on this, we are ready to talk about the safety guarantee of Ukraine. About Russia-America relations, Lavrov said Russia is expected to negotiate between the two countries in August, especially after the summit in the US state of Alaska. He said that Russia and America are taking special responsibility to protect the world situation and humanity from increasing risks in a new war. Lavarov also repeated a new initiative proposed by Putin. He said Moscow said that after the end of the new Strategic Weapon Renovation Treaty (New Beginning) in February 2026 to follow the limit of nuclear weapons for one year, provided the US should take the same steps and avoid such actions that could spoil the current balance of preventative capabilities. The new 2010 starting treaty signed by Russia and the US limits the number of nuclear weapons and strategic distribution systems deployed. The treaty came into effect on February 5, 2011 and would end on February 5, 2021.
