Jakarta – Israeli gymnasts’ plans to compete in Jakarta at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in 2025 have been rejected. One of them, a member of the Commission I DPR RI of the PKB faction, Oleh Soh, rejected the presence of Israeli athletes. “It is illegal for PKB to include athletes who are citizens of the country who committed genocide (Israel) in the Wagc event of 2025,” Oleh told Oleh on Thursday (9/10/2025). According to him, Israeli athletes should not participate in the competition. “(We) asked the organizers to remove Israel from the participants,” he emphasized. The chairman of BKSAP DPR RI and PKS politician Mardani Ali Sera said a similar thing. Mardani emphasized that Israel’s existence should be rejected. “Reject. As long as Israel did not bring peace to Palestine, the existence of Israeli institutions must be rejected,” Mardani told reporters on Thursday (9/10/2025). “As part of public pressure, so that Israeli citizens also realize how much the world opposes Israel’s aggression and arrogant attitude,” he continued. This member of the Commission II DPR RI is of the opinion that all parties must mimic FIFA’s steps to identify the sanctions on Russia for the attack on Ukraine. He emphasized that Israel should get social sanctions or be forbidden to participate in world competitions. “Yes (sanctions) must be clear and firm. According to Francesca Albanian, UN’s special envoy for Palestine, Israel has committed genocide against Palestinians for the past two years,” he said. Foreign Minister Open Foreign Minister (Menlu) of Sugiono also opened his vote. Sugiono admitted to monitoring this matter and would see developments later. “I monitor it, but Persani (Indonesian Gymnastics Association) organizes it. We will see how it develops,” Sugiono told reporters to the Presidential Palace Complex, Jakarta. Sugiono emphasized that the championship was arranged by Persani. According to him, the Foreign Ministry has no to say to accept or not. He handed it over to immigration authorities. As is known, Indonesia, as reported by detics, will host the 2025 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The event will be held in Jakarta on October 19-25. The event entitled 53rd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Jakarta 2025 will compete against men’s artistic gymnastics (power) and female artistic gymnastics (guard). About 500 athletes from 78 countries will participate.
