Letda Fauzy's last video call with his father the day before he was shot dead by Opm
Jakarta – Young TNI advertising officer, lt. Inf Fauzy Ahmad Sulkarnain, 23, died in a firefighting with members of the Free Papua Organization (OPM) in the Kiwirok district, Bintang Mountains Regency, Papua mountains. The family revealed the last conversation the day before the death of the member of the RI-PNG Static Security Task Force Battalion 753/Avt. The father of the victim, Serma Sulkarnain, remembers the last time he communicated with the deceased. At the time, he made a video call the day before the unfortunate incident happened to his son, namely Friday (10/10). “The last communication was Friday, he asked how he was, had a video call about his health. We also asked how it was,” Sulkarnain told reporters when he met at the funeral home in Pangkep Regency on Monday (13/10/2025). He admitted to receiving news that his son had died on Saturday afternoon. “I received the news (Lieutenant Fauzy died yesterday afternoon),” he said. Sulkarnain said Fauzy was the first child and had two younger sisters. The last time he saw his son was last June when Lieutenant Fauzy transferred at Makassar Harbor on his way to Papua. “He is 24 years old, still young. He was born in 2001. He is the first child, his dream was to enter the Military Academy since the school. The last time he met Fauzy was in the sixth month (June) in the port of Makassar during transport,” he said.
