Djakarta – Three livestock died with their intestines ripped open in Muara Enim, South Sumatra (Sumsel). The South Sumatra Natural Resources Conservation Agency (BKSDA) identified that the livestock had been hit by sun bears. Reported by detikSumsel, Saturday (18/10/2025), from the result of the investigation, three goats belonging to residents in Beringin Village, Lubai District, Muara Enim Regency were attacked by a sun bear. This identification activity was attended by members of the Rambang Lubai Police, village chief and the BKSDA team. Head of Public Relations for the Muara Enim Police, AKP RTM Situmorang, said the results of field investigations concluded that the animal on the three goats belonging to the residents was a sun bear. Scroll TO CONTINUE CONTENT “From the BKSDA identification results, the wild animal that entered the residents’ cattle pens and chased goats was a sun bear,” said AKP Situmorang, Saturday (18/10). According to Situmorang, there was a witness, namely Miko Ayatullah, who claimed to have seen the wild animal. The witness saw the sun bear appear on Friday (17/10) around 23.26 WIB. The animal entered the goat pen. “The BKSDA asks the public who see wild animals to immediately report officially to the Lahat BKSDA for identification directly at the location,” Situmorang said.
