In a cold case of fake, Uttar Pradesh, 27-year-old Muskan Rastogi and her 25-year-old lover, Sahil Shukla, were arrested for the brutal murder of Muskan’s husband, 29-year-old Saurabh Rajput, a trade officer, according to India today. Saurabh Rajput and Muskaan Rastogi had a love marriage in 2016. To spend more time with Muscan, Saurabh left its working fleet work, a sudden decision that was not good with his family, which led to friction, NDTV reports. The couple moved into a rented house and welcomed a daughter in 2019. However, their happiness is short -lived when Saurabh discovers Muskaan’s relationship with his friend Sahil. On March 4, 2025, Muskan allegedly mixed sedatives in Saurabh’s food and made him unconscious. She then contacted Sahil, and together they stabbed Saurabh in the chest and cut his throat. To do the body away, they disconnected it, placed the parts in a large plastic drum and sealed it with cement and hid it in their home. In an attempt to cover the crime, Muskan neighbors informed Saurabh to a hill station. She and Sahil then traveled to Manali and used Saurabh’s phone to post photos on his social media accounts to create the illusion that he was alive and traveling. However, the Saurabh family became suspicious after she was unable to contact him for a few days and submitted a missing person’s report. After investigation, the authorities continued Muskan and Sahil, who acknowledged the murder. Both are currently in judicial detention at Chaudhary Charan Singh Jail in MeerUT. After a formal request from prison authorities, a medical team recently confirmed that Muskan is pregnant. Chief Medical Officer Ashok Qataria confirmed the results of the pregnancy test. Further revelations indicate that Muskan and Sahil have been planning the murder for some time. Muskan’s father, Pramod Rastogi, claims that Sahil Muskan introduced drugs, which led to her addiction. “She told me she couldn’t live without drugs,” he told India Today. Pramod expressed his anxiety, claiming that his daughter should face the consequences of her actions. As the legal action continues, the focus remains on the delivery of justice for Saurabh and the well -being of the couple’s young daughter.
