Lucknow, October 12 (IANS). Yogi Adityanath, chief minister of Uttar Pradesh, held a meeting with the Gomti Task Force of 137 Holistic Ecological Task Force Battalion (TA) to review the progress of the ongoing revival of the Gomti River under the National Mission for Clean Ganga. During the meeting, the chief of staff of Lieutenant General Naveen Sachdeva, Head of Indian Army, announced Yogi about the ongoing efforts, including foot and boat patrol, removing more than 1000 tonnes of water hyena and more than 100 awareness campaigns involving more than 70 thousand civilians. “The chief minister appreciated the initiative and established an inter-departmental committee for coordinated action to restore the Holy Gomti River to its ancient glory,” the central command of the Indian army said in a post on Twitter. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh government will organize various programs, including ‘Run for Unity’ across the state to commemorate the 150th birthday of Bharat Ratna and Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. Thousands of youth from all over the country will take part in this March and distribute awareness about the national unity and public awareness campaign. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who addressed the media, set out the detailed plans for the nationwide celebrations. He announced that a three-day Padayatra of 8 to 10 kilometers will be arranged in each Lok Sabha constituency, which will go through all the constituencies of the meeting. Before the Padyatra, various public awareness programs will be arranged at the local level, which includes essays and debate competitions, seminars on the life and contribution of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, street play and seminars. In addition, a special neatness drive will also be performed.
