Mumbai, October 22 (IANS). Famous singer Lucky Ali took to social media to check out writer Javed Akhtar. He advised people not to be like him and said he was a very bad person. The problem arose when an old video of Javed Akhtar resurfaced on social media. In this he is seen appealing to the Hindu community of the country not to become like the Muslim community. Known as an atheist, Javed consistently criticizes traditional practices, regardless of religion, that harm society. He advocates critical thinking and the adoption of practices that make society better and progressive. In this video, Javed was seen dubbing a scene from the film ‘Sholay’. In this scene, Dharmendra is talking and hiding behind the idol of Shivji and Hema Malini (thinks) that Shivji is talking to her. Javed says can such a scene happen even today? No, I will not write such a scene today. Were there no Hindus in 1975 (when Sholay was released)? Were there no religious people? Wash. To be honest, that’s not what I’m saying here. Raju Hirani and I were in front of a large audience in Pune and I said, “Don’t be like Muslims. Make them like you. You are becoming like Muslims. This is a tragedy.” This video was posted by a user on the social media platform There is a debate on social media about this. Some people were seen supporting Javed Akhtar and some were seen supporting Lucky Ali. However, this is not the first time that Javed Akhtar has been trolled for any statement, he continues to make headlines for his statements. –IANS JP/ABM Share this story Tags
