According to the new course implementation of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, both marathi and English-medical schools across Maharashtra will now be compulsory for students from class 1 to 5 to study Hindi as a third language. It is a symbol of change of previous practice, where students have only been taught two languages. The State School Education Department on Wednesday announced a phased plan to implement the new course structure based on the NEP 2020 guidelines for school education. The government resolution (gr) issued in this regard makes it clear that schools that follow other mediums in Maharashtra already implement three-language formulas, with the English and marathi-duty language as well as the medium of instruction. In contrast, only two languages were taught in English and marathi medium schools. Share this story -Tags
