Maharashtra: Marathwada and Vidarbha flood affected the most, Minister Bawankule appealed not to do politics

Mumbai, September 24 (IANS). The ongoing storm rains in Maharashtra engulfed half of the state in flooding. The districts of Marathwada and Vidarbha caused heavy devastation, where rivers are in flurry and hundreds of towns are in water underwater. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow warning in 25 districts for the next two-three days, including all eight districts of marathwada and 11 districts of Vidarbha. Cabinet Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule at this time requested the opposition not to do politics and help everyone. The Minister of Cabinet Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Tuesday declared the seriousness of the situation in a media interaction in Mumbai. He said: “The districts of Marathwada and Western Maharashtra are severely influenced by floods. Many houses entered three to four meters, and a large number of cattle were destroyed. Farmers’ crops were destroyed.” Although he emphasizes his responsibility, Bawankule said: “My job is to contact the officers who sit at the end and do the crops affected so that the farmers can get compensation soon.” The minister has called on major investors, industrialists and builders, “The government will come up to the flood that is affected, but you must also come up to the people of Maharashtra. This is a time of objection, not politics. If the country has a disaster, Maharashtra has helped. Based on the opposition, he said, “Don’t do politics at such a time. Maharashtra has always helped the country, now it’s our turn.” Many people were killed due to rain for three days in Maharashtra, while hundreds were taken to a safe place. The administration is at the full warning mode, and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and both are present in the Deputy Head Minister field. According to IMD, the moisture winds of Madhya Pradesh strengthened the rain due to the low pressure area of Bengal. Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha are expected to have heavy rainfall and thunderstorms within the next 24 hours. The increase in the water level of rivers has increased the risk of flooding in Nadinala areas. SDRF, NDRF and army teams are working on rescue operations. There is a situation of weakening in Mumbai, Pune, Thane and other cities, affecting traffic. -Ians Sch Share This Story Tags
