Maharashtra: The congress showed that they would demand help for the flood -focused farmers
Mumbai, October 3 (IANS). The congress protested in Maharashtra on Friday and immediately relieved relief for heavy rains and farmers affected by the flood. The party demanded the state government to declare “humid drought”, helping Rs 50,000 per hectare to the farmers concerned, relinquishing the debt, relinquishing the outstanding electricity bill and giving extra compensation for agricultural land. Congress claims that the BJP -Led -Mahayuti government is only engaged in rhetoric, while the farmers have not received relief so far. A demonstration was arranged outside the district collector’s office on behalf of the District and City Congress Committees in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. On this occasion, the member of parliament was dr. Kalyan Kale, District President Kiran Patil Dongwakar, city president Sheikh Yusuf, former MLA Namdvramo Pawar and President of the Public Service, Vilas Autade. Under the guidance of Chandrapur MP Pratibha Dhanorkar, there was a movement on the Nagpur Chandrapur highway in Waraora over the demands of farmers and general public. During this time, farmers set up a special package for soybean farmers from the Chandrapur district, Rs 1 lakh per hectare to cotton farmers and Rs 2.5 lakh per hectare to soybean farmers. Chandrapur City (District) Congress Committee President Rita Tiwari, leaders of the congress, workers, farmers and a large number of local citizens participated in this movement. In addition, protests were also held in different districts and talukas of the state, including Akola, Amravati, Buldhana, Nagpur rural, Jalna, Latur, Wardha, Ratnagiri.
