Maharashtra: Two laborers fall from third floor during Diwali decoration in Latur

Latur, October 18 (IANS). A major accident was narrowly avoided during Diwali decoration in Ausa town, Latur district of Maharashtra. During the installation of Diwali lighting on the third floor of a cloth center in Ausa, two workers suddenly fell down, injuring them. The entire incident of the accident was captured in the CCTV camera installed nearby. It was fortunate that the lives of both the workers were saved. Both of them were rushed to the Sahyadri Hospital in Latur immediately after the accident, where they are undergoing treatment. Shop owner Umesh Dhage said that both the workers are currently safe and undergoing treatment. Like every year, this year also the same laborers were given contract for decoration for Diwali. This year he also came to work. Don’t know how he slipped and fell while lighting the lamp. The workers did not even follow the safety rules. He told that the doctors will release him from the hospital in a day or two. This accident happened on Friday evening around 19:30. Immediately after the accident, nearby shopkeepers came and with everyone’s help he was admitted to the hospital. Local people told that the accident happened when he slipped and fell while he was installing lighting in the house. Seeing the workers fall, nearby people gathered and admitted them to the nearby hospital, where doctors declared their condition out of danger. One worker sustained serious injuries in the accident, while the other sustained minor injuries. He said the laborer and the shop owner should have followed the safety rules while working, but both did not pay attention to them due to the accident.
