This announcement will include new information about the manga, anime, games, toys, and figurines.
Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri Event To Take Place In January 2026
It’s been a year since the “Dragon Ball Daimatsuri” event was held in October 2024 to commemorate the start of the franchise’s 40th anniversary. Hence, the upcoming “Genkidamatsuri” event will mark the anniversary’s climax.
The Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event will take place on January 25, 2026, from 9:00 to 18:30, at Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall. While admission is free, one must apply for the tickets. The event’s logo has Shenron’s face on it, while its visual features multiple Goku, showcasing all his forms.
As for the event, it will see Son Goku’s Japanese voice actor Masako Nozawa and Executive Producer Akio Iyoku take the main stage to unveil major announcements about new developments related to the future of “Dragon Ball”. The announcements will include all kinds of content, including manga, anime, games, toys, and figurines.
While only Masako Nozawa and Akio Iyoku will appear for the “New Development Super Announcement! Genkida Stage” Part 1 and Part 2, Hironobu Kageyama will join them on the “Genkidamatsuri Special Live Stage” for a special live performance. He has performed many songs for them Dragon Ball anime series, including the infamous “CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA.”
Is Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri Setting the Stage for Dragon Ball Super’s Return?
While it has yet to be confirmed, there is a good chance that the franchise is setting the stage for Dragon Ball Super’s return with the event. The anime ended in 2018. Ever since, fans have been eagerly anticipating its return. Now, after seven years, it might finally be time for the anime to make its comeback.
However, it is not just the event announcement that hints at the anime’s return. Only days ago, the staff of Dragon Ball Super anime changed the handle for its official X account from @DB_super2015 to @DB_anime_info.
The fact that the staff never changed the handle when it released its movies or Dragon Ball Daima series, possibly means that the upcoming anime announcement may have more to do with the original Dragon Ball Super anime.
Unfortunately, with the event still a couple of months away, for now, fans can only hope that the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event gives them the news they have been waiting for.
