Minister of Education: Students can convey aspirations without leaving school

Jakarta – Minister of Primary and Secondary Education (Mendikdasmen) Abdul Mu’ti does not prohibit students from expressing their pursuit. But he hopes that students should express their pursuit without leaving school. “Students should indeed be channeled in a more appropriate way, if there are aspirations of democracy. The message can show up without having to leave school,” he said on Saturday (6/9/2025). Mu’ti emphasized that his party issued a circular to the Regional Government (Pemda) to prevent students from taking to the streets. The letter was distributed to the head of the education office in the regions.
