Mamta Banerjee talked about the floods in North Bengals, "some people politicize the incident"

Kolkata, October 7 (IANS). Rain and flooding caused great devastation in the Northern Bengale districts. Many towns are underwater and roads are damaged. In the midst of the ongoing assistance and rescue work in the affected areas, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday provided information on the matter. Mamta Banerjee said everyone is working hard to handle the situation. The district magistrate and other officials are completely tired after working through all the time. The night of the incident, our administration issued a warning to the locals, but people generally did not want to get out of their homes, so the impact of the flood was more. Nagarakata is not a low -lying area, but the sudden flood has caused great destruction in the area. He said that I held a meeting on the morning of October 5 at 05:00 and was said to have already reached the place for all the officials involved in the assistance – fire, civil defense, disaster management, police, health and local officials. Mamata Banerjee said some people are politicizing the incident and constantly attacking the Durga Puja festival. So much preparation for the festival has already been done, money has been invested, and foreign delegates also attended. How can it be stopped suddenly? He said what would have happened if we had reached the place immediately? The work of the police and other departments was to save people, stand by the involved and run assistant camps and not to look after the VIP arrangements and those who accompany them. He said it is important to stand with the involved and helpless people. People are very vulnerable in these circumstances because they have to suffer great losses. It is very important to be empathetic in such situations and to handle them calmly and tactfully without any rough and arguments. I personally met 21 affected families and handed them checks of Rs 5 Lakh each. –Is MS/ABM shares this story tags
