Man in Muba was shot dead by garden owner after he was caught stealing petai

Musi Banyuasin – A man named Zulkarnain (44) was shot dead after he was caught stealing flower petals in a garden. The perpetrator of the shooting was Soni Harso (35) as the garden owner. The incident occurred on Friday (17/10) at around 18:00 WIB in Hamlet V, Kerta Jaya Village, Musi Banyuasin (Muba) Regency. The victim died after being shot by the perpetrator with an air rifle. “The offender was arrested in less than 24 hours. The offender was successfully arrested without resistance in the same area,” said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit for the Keruh River Police, Ipda Rolly Setiawan, as reported by detikSumbagsel, on Monday (20/10/2025). SCROLL TO CONTINUE CONTENT Rolly explained that the shooting occurred as a result of an argument when the victim was caught picking up flower petals in the offender’s garden area. The victim died after being shot in the stomach by the perpetrator with an air rifle. “Before the shooting took place, the offender caught the victim picking flower petals in the offender’s garden. Because he did not accept this, the offender shot the victim once with an air rifle until the bullet hit the victim’s right side of the stomach,” he said. As a result of the gunshot wound, the victim was critical and died while on the way to get medical attention. The police also confiscated a brown air rifle, a bag containing 10 petai stalks, as well as the offender’s clothes that were used at the time of the incident. Read more here (yangs/yangs)
