Liam Payne’s Girlfriend Kate Cassidy Reveals What He Said Before His Death – ryan
Liam Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, is opening up and her final goodbye with the singer-songwriter before his tragic death in October 2024 in Argentina.
During a Wednesday, April 16 appearance on Jay Shetty’s On Purpose podcast, the influencer revealed the “chilling” final conversation they had before she returned home from the trip.
“It brings me this mixture of pain and peace… it brings me pain because I can’t fully process that the day I left Argentina was the last day I was able to touch Liam, to hug Liam, to speak to him, to be in the same room as him,” Cassidy, 26, said of the One Direction star, who died at age 31.
She continued, “But it brings me peace because it was such a beautiful last moment we had together.”

Cassidy went on to explain that the day she left Argentina, she had a later flight. That morning, they woke up and had “an amazing breakfast” and went “horseback riding.” Before she left, they had a “heartfelt, long goodbye” — and Payne said something that struck a chord.
“I remember sitting there with him, and I was going on and on and on, and I was saying to Liam how much I love him. And he laughed, and he interrupted me, and he just said, ‘Kate, you’re gonna miss your flight. Your car is in the driveway. You’re acting like this is the last time you’re ever going to see me again,’” she recalled. “I just laughed back and said, ‘I know, I’m being silly. I need to get in the car.’”
Looking back, Cassidy said it’s “so chilling” to think that this was the “last time” she was able to see him.
“In a way, I think that the way that we said goodbye to each other, I’m so blessed, and this is where I get that peace from it… I wouldn’t have wanted it to be any differently. I’m so glad that we had that last beautiful moment together,” she concluded.
Payne — who died after falling from a balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires — dated Cassidy for approximately two years. Days before his death, Cassidy appeared in several of his Snapchat videos. She left to return to their home in Florida.
Nearly four months later, she told The Sun that she wished she had stayed instead of returning home.
Then, in March, she posted a TikTok video where she opened up boxes filled with items from her last few months with Payne.
“I’m packing up and organizing some things right now, and I’ve had these boxes sitting down in my basement for probably three or four months now,” she said. “I’ve been absolutely dreading opening these boxes.”
