Manipur: Army Reliefwork continues amid the flood crisis in Imhal

IMPHAL, JUNE 3 (IANS). Normal life is disrupted as a result of storm rainfall and flooding in the Imhal Valley and its surrounding manipur. Relief and rescue operations go under ‘Operation Water Relief-2’ run by the army. The army staff has been busy with relief and rescue operations in areas affected by floods since May 31 and provides important help to the people of Manipur. Army troops have so far evacuated more than 1,560 people. The highest approval took place in Wangkhai, where 584 people were rescued. In addition, 569 people were evacuated from JNIMS Hospital, including 15 patients, who need immediately care. At the same time, 110 people were transported to safe areas in Khitai Chingangbam Likai, while 115 people were rescued from Lasharam Leicai. Rescuers also removed 65 people from Lamlaong and 75 from Heinjang. Aid workers undergo a stream of floods due to a split in the challenging area and the dam of the Imhal River. The most capable-e-adjustment was that army staff also launched a special campaign to save three Divyang adults from different places. Army staff equipped with lifeboats, medical parties and essential aids, work in close coordination with Assam Rifles, NDRF, SDRF and Civil Administration. Due to continuous rain, there were widespread floods in the Imhal Valley and many other districts Manipur, large rivers break their banks and weakening was disturbed due to the reconciliation in the capital. The Imphal and Serou rivers flowing from the Central Valley region flow at dangerous levels to continuous rain.
