During the visit of the Union Minister Nitin Gadkari to Odisha, the state president of Bharatiya Janata (BJP), Manmohan Samal, made a statement. He said in a conversation with Ians that the improvement in the road and infrastructure in the state is the gift of the center. He shared important information on what the future road map would look like. He said that the foundation stone of 25 road projects today at a cost of Rs 4000 crore will play an important role in the development of Odisha. This year, development works of roads and coastal areas worth Rs 23,000 in Odisha will be completed. Samal said there was unprecedented progress in the area of road building in Odisha. He said: “Earlier than 50 percent of the Odisha National Average could be built. In the year 1998-99, the national average was 3400 km. Only 1500 km roads were built in Odisha. But today we not only crossed the national average, but moved to 10,000 km of the road construction. He emphasized the importance of infrastructure and said that the development of any state is not possible until the infrastructure is strong. Samal appreciated the central government schemes, saying that programs such as Bharatmala Project, National Highway and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana revolutionary changes in strengthening infrastructure across the country. He informed that the National Highway scheme, which started at a cost of Rs 54,000 crore, has now reached Rs 11 Lakh Crore, and the investment of Rs 21 Lakh Crore is added. Samal said: “This is a major change for India. Our infrastructure gives us the power to create the world’s third largest economic power by 2030. The extensive projects in Odisha, such as highways and coastal development, will take the state to new developmental heights.” Please tell that Union Road Transport and Minister of Highways, Nitin Gadkari, is on a tour to Odisha on April 17. During this time, he begins various infrastructure projects that cost more than Rs 3.300 crore. Gadkari will be launched a total of 17 projects, including 13 National Highways (NH) projects and 4 bridge projects under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund (CRIF). According to the information received, these projects will cover an area of 110 km in Odisha. Their main goal is to improve the connection of the road in the state and reduce travel time.
