Trinamool called a meeting in Lalpur in Mathurapur on Sunday to protest against the revised Waqf Act, where the Trinamool MP said Waqf is the property of a community. If someone looks at him, he will break his eyes and break his hands and feet.

TMC trying to spoil the situation further: BJP

On this, CPI (M) state secretary Mohammad Salim and BJP’s Mathurapur District Organization Vice President Ashok Purkait said that the Trinamool is trying to further the situation by giving such inflammatory speeches.

Explain that Vaqf has about 4,500 assets in the violent Waqf Act in Murshidabad district. According to information received from administrative sources, most of these are agricultural land. It is alleged that locally influential people have captured 550 of these assets.

Encroachment on Waqf property: TMC MP

Khalilur Rahman, a member of the State Waqf Board and Trinamool MP from Jangipur, said that the wealth is encroaching. He also admitted that some people of his party also have a role in it. It also said that the state government and Waqf Board are trying to remove encroachments.

At the same time, the official of a local organization of Imams and Mujimas said that Murshidabad Waqf has a lot of assets. Many of them have been captured. When he has been in power, he has handed over the property of Waqf. The state government should be ready to return those assets and should be well maintained. Another organization official said that Waqf has assets on about one lakh acres in Murshidabad. The government will increase further if the government does not take steps to remove the possession of the assets taken.

At the same time, Nurul Islam, leader of Shamsherganj Imam Mujhjim Sangathan, said that those who are living on a hire of Rs 100-100 on Waqf’s property will have to be identified and those property will have to be captured. CPI -M District Secretary Jamir Molla said that most of the wealth of Waqf is occupied by the people of Trinamool. At the same time, former Bengal Congress president Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said that Waqf has 1,48,200 assets in Bengal.
