Mata Vaishno Devi -Pilgrimage is likely to resume next week

JAMMU: The pilgrimage to the Mata Vaishno Devi Holy Look above the Trikuta hills in Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi district is likely to resume next week following a new review of the weather advice, officials said on Saturday. The Yatra suspended for the 12th consecutive day on Saturday, with the weatherman predicting the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorms over a few districts of the Jammu section by the late night or early hours of 7 and 8. A Shrine Board official said. The Yatra was suspended on August 26 before claiming a landslide along the old track at Adhkuwari 34 lives and left 20 others injured. The suspension is the longest since the Covid-19 restrictions, with authorities prioritizing pilgrimage and repairs on the damaged lane and commercial structures in Katra.
