On 17 December 2024, the Supreme Court ordered the Housing Development Board to vacate the complex built at 661/6 Central Market within three months and demolish it within two weeks. The Supreme Court ordered the demolition of other constructions like the said complex on residential plots. Since then, nine months have passed, but not a single businessman has taken the goods out of the store. Applicant Lokesh Khurana filed a contempt case in the Supreme Court. While hearing the matter, the Supreme Court issued notice to the Home Minister, Housing Commissioner, DM, SSP, Housing Development Officers and 22 businessmen of the said complex. Was asked to answer within two weeks in the matter. Whose trial date is on October 27. Regarding this, the police administration and Housing Development Board have fixed October 25 as the date of demolition. The Superintending Engineer has asked all the staff and enforcement team to be present at the office in Shastri Nagar at 9 am on Saturday. Contract given to private firm: The contract was given to a private firm for the demolition work. The demolition will start from the complex built at Central Market 661/6. Superintending Engineer Rajeev Kumar nominated Executive Engineer Construction Block I Aftab Ahmed as the nodal officer. Arrangements for 25 helmets and jackets will be made, video of action will be taken. There are 22 shops in this fully covered complex of 488 square meters. Discussions took place about the current map of the three-story complex. It is said that it will be a difficult task for the firm to demolish the construction at the front and rear.
