Rahul Gandhi's allegations wrong about Rajura seat, administration presented evidence
Rajura, September 19 (IANS). The leader of Congress Rahul Gandhi re -placed the Electoral Commission in the dock and accused the Rajura meeting in Maharashtra of disturbances in the voters list. On this whole dispute, Chandrapur’s district administration immediately issued an explanation and clarified the situation. The Chandrapur District Information Office placed on its ex -handle, saying that due to the rapid action of the administration, the attempt to register false voter in the Rajura meeting was driven. The Rajura Election Registration Officer clarified that a total of 7,592 new voter registration applications were received between October 1 to 17, 2024. When the intensive verification of these applications was made by the authorities at the Booth level, a large number of interference were revealed. Verification found that a total of 6.861 applications were false or invalid. It was found that the addresses of many of these applicants were wrong, many people did not live on the given address, while in many cases there was a shortage of appropriate photos and essential documents. In such a situation, all invalid applications were rejected in time and were not included in the voters list. The administration also made it clear that this action was taken by taking note and that no external complaint was needed for this. In light of the seriousness of the case, the district election officer ordered the Electoral Registration Officer and the Editious Officer, Rajura, to investigate the entire case thoroughly. It was also asked to initiate the necessary criminal proceedings in terms of the Representation of the People’s Act, 1950 and the Information Technology Act, 2000. The Election Officer Office made it clear that false applications were rejected due to strict monitoring and verification done on time and that there was no disturbance in the voters list. It is striking that Rajura Assembly Seat is one of the six meetings in Chandrapur Lok Sabha voter division. Currently, this seat is occupied by BJP. In the election in the meeting held in 2024, BJP’s Vithoba Bhongle Subhash Dhota defeated 3054 votes. -Ians Pim/DSC shares this story Tags
