Menbud emphasizes the importance of reviving the cultural potential of Raja Ampat
Jakarta – The Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia, Fadli Zon, attended a cultural workshop in southwest Papua with regional interests, cultural communities, artists and cultural figures. In this activity, artists from different regions showed their works and ideas as an attempt to maintain the sustainability of the Southwest Papua cultural heritage. In the cultural dialogue, Fadli emphasizes the importance of reviving cultural potential in southwest Papua, especially Raja Ampat. According to him, Southwest Papua is not only known for its natural beauty, but also keeps traces of rich civilizations and traditions. “We see extraordinary cultural potential in southwest Papua, including in Raja Ampat, leaving many cultural traces and civilizations in the past. Cultural expressions in the form of dances, traditional music such as Tambur, and other performing arts, must continue to be on a continuous basis,” Fadli said in a written statement, Saturday (8/30/2025).
