Tripura chief minister Manik Saha announced on Sunday that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would visit Tripura on September 22 and set the redevelopment campus of the famous Tripura Sundari Temple in Udaipur in South Tripura. This temple is one of the 51 shaktypeeths of Hinduism and is considered an important religious place of the state. The chief minister made this announcement at the closing ceremony of Nermahal Jal Utsav held in Melaghar in the Sipahijala district. He said that the BJP government is constantly working on the development of tourist places in the state. CM Saha said that the prime minister will not only inaugurate the temple, but also worship there. The temple is located about 65 km south of Agartala. “I already invited the prime minister to set this temple,” he said. According to an official of the Department of Tourism, this 524 -year -old Tripura Sundari -Temple was redeveloped under the ‘Prasad’ scheme of the central government (Pilgrimship Revonation and Spiritual Heritage Promotional Campaign). The project cost more than Rs 52 crore, of which the Tripura government contributed Rs 7 crore. In addition, the state government is also setting up 51 Shaktipeeth Parks in Banduar in the Gonmati district, which costs Rs 97 crore. In this, replicas are made from all 51 shaktipeeths. The chief minister also called Nermahal’s greatness and said: “There is nowhere else in the entire East India such a unique water palace.” He said that this unique website should be identified in the country and abroad. Through social media, everyone must continue its culture and traditions, so that more and more tourists come here and the local economy gain power. Defining Mahal, which means ‘Jal Mahal’, is a beautiful palace located in the middle of Rudrasagar lake. It is 53 km south of Agartala. It was built in 1930 as his summer house by former King Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya inspired by the Mughal architecture. The chief minister said Nermahal Raj Ghat will also be developed under the central government’s Swadesh Darshan Yojana. He said: “Prime Minister Modi is constantly trying to cherish the ancient culture and traditions of the country.” CM Saha said Tripura is in second place in per capita revenue today and GDP in Northeast India.
