Amritsar has reported the highest number of cases at 76, while Tarn Taran is second with 55 cases. The Pollution Control Board took action and imposed fines and several FIRs were also registered. A total of 188 cases of stubble burning have been reported in the state so far. Of these, maximum 76 cases came from Amritsar. On the other hand, Pathankot, Muktsar and Moga are such districts where not a single case of stubble burning has been reported so far. According to Punjab Pollution Control Board officials, while taking action in 93 cases of stubble burning, a fine of Rs 4 lakh 60 thousand has been imposed so far. From this a fine of Rs 3 lakh 30 thousand was also recovered. Along with this, while 115 FIRs have been registered on stubble burning, red entries have also been made in the land records of 59 farmers.
