New Delhi, October 22 (IANS). Delhi government is making preparations on war footing in view of ‘Chhath Puja 2025’. In this sequence, Yamuna Ghat of Sonia Vihar, located in Karawal constituency, was jointly inspected by Delhi Minister for Art, Culture and Language Kapil Mishra and North East Delhi MP Manoj Tiwari on Wednesday. Administrative officers, all corporation board members, organization officers and area residents were present on this occasion. During the inspection, the cleanliness, lighting, security and basic amenities of the ghat were reviewed. Kapil Mishra instructed the officials that all necessary arrangements should be completed immediately so that the devotees and visitors do not face any kind of inconvenience. During the inspection, Minister Kapil Mishra told the present public that I want to share a big good news that Chief Minister Rekha Gupta has decided to lift the ban on Chhath Puja on the banks of Yamuna which was imposed by the previous government, along with this she also took a historic decision to withdraw the cases registered. Chhath Puja was not allowed on the Yamuna ghats for the last six years, but now this festival will be celebrated there again on a grand scale. Minister Kapil Mishra further said that our election resolution was that Chhath Puja would be held on the banks of Yamuna and our government is fulfilling this resolution on the very first Chhath Puja. The previous government deliberately banned Chhath Puja by conspiring. It was a sin committed against the faith of Delhi, which has now been abolished by our government. On this occasion, MP Manoj Tiwari said that it is a matter of great pleasure that with the change of government, change has become clearly visible. Last year, when we came to Yamuna Ghat, we had to protest because barricades were put up and no one was allowed to enter, but today the same ghats are opening again for worship and reverence. This is a historic moment for the people of Delhi and especially the Purvanchal community. During the spot inspection, Minister Kapil Mishra directed the officials concerned to take all necessary steps for the beautification, cleanliness and comfort of the devotees of Yamuna banks. He appealed to the local citizens to actively cooperate in this campaign so that the Yamuna Ghats of Delhi can once again become a symbol of faith, culture and cleanliness. –IANS DKP/ Share this story Tags
