Jakarta – Minister of Culture of the Republic of Indonesia (Menbud), Fadli Zon attended the Open Senate Session of the National University of the Republic of Indonesia (UKRI) in the framework of the Inauguration of New Students, Bachelor Degree and the 2025 Anniversary at the Trans Convention Center, Bandung. Fadli Zon, directly attended by the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, in his capacity as the Scientific Expert Council, expressed his appreciation for holding this significant event and the advice that President Prabowo gave to graduates and new students. Fadli Zon concluded his statement and hoped that all graduates of the National University of the Republic of Indonesia could realize their dreams with a spirit of service. “Hopefully, the graduates and graduate students can achieve their goals according to their wishes,” he said. This message emphasizes the importance of the role of the younger generation in building a future for Indonesia with knowledge, character and sovereignty. Meanwhile, the chancellor of the National University of the Republic of Indonesia and vice-chairman of the DPR RI, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, in his academic report, conveyed a number of UKRI achievements in the past five years. UKRI recorded a total of 1,142 new student admissions, of which 99 per cent received bursaries and pocket money grants. The improvement of academic quality and institutional accreditation is accompanied by the opening of new study programs relevant to the country’s future needs, such as Agricultural Technology, Agri-Business, Digital Business and Master of Architecture. These programs are designed to equip students with cross-disciplinary skills, including the use of artificial intelligence, data analytics and innovation based on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). Apart from strengthening the curriculum, UKRI is also building integrated campus infrastructure, including two lecture towers, a rectorate building, a large auditorium, as well as a research center and other supporting facilities that will become the center of academic activities for more than 12,000 students. Dasco hopes that next year graduation can be held on campus itself, as a symbol of institutional independence and progress.
