Jakarta – Minister of Home Affairs (Minister of Home Affairs) Muhammad Tito Karnavian talked about the importance of downstream in the agricultural, plantation and livestock sectors. He gave an example of New Zealand that did not relate to the manufacturing industry, but rather developed the agricultural, plantation and livestock industry that gave a high value. According to him, this model may be a valuable learning for Indonesia to build independence, while strengthening global competitiveness. He also said that the downstream in the agricultural and plant acectors in accordance with the vision of President Prabowo Subianto, which placed food security as a top priority. Tito said the president not only emphasized that food self -sufficiency in policy documents, but also prepared concrete steps, including major budget support, to ensure that food security is truly realized. He emphasizes the importance of using this momentum to strengthen agricultural, plantation, fisheries and livestock sectors through concrete steps, not just normative. “With the existing budget, we want to make downstream, industrialization in agriculture, plantations, fisheries, animal husbandry and others. Because we have great natural capital. And then we only have to increase resources, capabilities, capacity of farmers and others,” he concluded.
