Due to dissatisfaction with the Taliban, he said: “We told the Afghan authorities that there are about 6,000 to 7,000 people living on your land which is a threat to Pakistan.” Asif also said that Kabul proposed a ‘financial settlement’ to keep these people there. The Minister of Defense said Pakistan sought a guarantee of the Afghan authorities that these people would not return to Pakistan, but that Afghanistan refused to give such insurance.
