Minister of Trans directly leads the evacuation of patriots' bodies from Fakfak to Jakarta
Jakarta – Minister of Transmigration M. Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanagara flew to Fakfak Regency, West Papua to lead the process of exhuming the body of Anggit Bima Wicaksana, an IPB student and member of the Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) who died while in the Bomberey Transmigration Area, Fakfak served to lead. Iftitah’s direct presence at the location is a form of state responsibility and empathy for the service of young patriots working at the forefront of development in the transmigration area. “I came to Fakfak to ensure that the country is fully present. The late Anggit was not only a student, but a young Patriot who died in the service. We want to ensure that the repatriation of her body goes as well as possible and that the family receives full assistance,” he said in a written statement on Tuesday (21/10/2025). PAGE TO CONTINUE CONTENT The body evacuation process was carried out in coordination between the Ministry of Transmigration, the Regional Government of Fakfak and South West Papua, TNI, Police, Ministry of Transport, IPB University, AirNav, Angkasa Pura Indonesia, RSUD Fakfak and related authorities. The body left Fakfak for Jakarta on a special plane at the first opportunity and is expected to arrive at Halim Perdanakusuma Airport tomorrow Wednesday (22/10) to be taken to the funeral home at Graha Bintaro Jaya. Upon arrival in Jakarta, Iftitah will also directly supervise the handover of the body to the family of the deceased, as a form of state respect for the service of the country’s young generation. “We have lost one of Indonesia’s best sons. But his spirit will live on in every step of the Patriot Expedition Team’s service throughout the country. Indonesia is proud of Anggit,” said Iftitah. All levels of the Ministry of Transmigration express their deepest condolences to the extended family of the deceased and pray that Anggit Bima Wicaksana will find the best place next to God Almighty.
