Missing 2 Days in Lembang Skull Valley, Father and Son Found Safe

West Bandung – Two climbers, father and son, were reported missing on the Tengkorak Valley Climbing Route, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java. After a series of searches, both were found safe. Reported by Antara, Saturday (18/10/2025), Head of the Operations and Warning Division of the Bandung SAR Office, Moch Adip, said that the two climbers were found safe at 14.50 WIB. “Next, the two climbers were taken by the family to the nearest health center for further medical examinations,” said Adip. It is known that the two climbers started climbing activities since Wednesday (15/10), around 06.30 WIB with plans to go back on the same day. However, the two of them did not return home until Thursday (16/10) evening. The family and the manager of the Tengkorak Valley base camp reported the incident to officials. Apart from ground searches, the SAR team also used visual observation methods and aerial monitoring using UAV drones to expand the observation area in hilly areas and dense forests that are difficult to access. “The terrain conditions are quite challenging with dense vegetation and steep contours, so we rely on inter-post coordination and aerial monitoring to speed up the search process,” he said.
