Drivers break rules indiscriminately in the district. Despite the constant presence of the traffic police, the drivers are not ready to follow the rules. In the last six months, the traffic police has booked more than one lakh vehicles for violating various rules. In this, 63413 vehicles without a helmet, 2942 without a seat belt, 712 for driving with the help of a mobile phone, 2511 for over speeding, 6829 for triple driving, 16111 for no parking, 4332 without insurance and 2482 vehicles without a number plate were summoned by the traffic police within the last six months. The police issued these calls using speed radar guns and CCTV cameras, while till a year ago the number of calls for over speeding was 500 to 700 in six months. This year, in February, March, April, May, June, July, August and September, the traffic police issued 1 lakh 39 thousand 333 traffic rules for violating traffic rules. It also includes e-callan. The highest number of rule breakers are those who ride two wheelers without helmets, 63413. Surprisingly, among these there are also some challans for which two or three challans have been issued for riding without a helmet. The police also issued complaints to drivers for driving at high speeds. With the help of speed radar guns on the highway and CCTV cameras in the city, 3,011 drivers were issued summonses. 712 challans were issued for using mobile phone while driving while 6829 challans were issued for triple driving. Likewise, 13252 drivers were caught driving without a license. 300 driving licenses suspended in one year. Despite various programs and awareness campaigns, the drivers are not ready to improve. Along with the police, the transport department is also taking action against repeated rule violations. RI Hariom of the transport department said that in the case of repeated rule violations, 300 driving licenses were suspended for three months in a year.
