Shah Rukh Khan’s wife and interior designer Gauri Khan’s restaurant Tory recently came into the limelight when a YouTuber accused the restaurant of serving ‘fake’ cheese. Content Creator Sarthak Sachdeva conducted an iodine test on cheese ordered by several celebrity restaurants. While the color of Tory’s cheese changed, Shilpa Shetty and Virat Kohli’s restaurant’s cheese did not change the color. Soon it turned into a big discussion on social media, after which the restaurant has also given clarification. Now chef Vikas Khanna has also come in support of Gauri Khan’s restaurant and has accused the content creator of spreading misinformation.
Posting on Instagram Stories, Vikas wrote, “I have been cooking for the last several decades and working on food science. I have never seen such a terrible wrong information, as if a Youtuber has claimed who considers himself a food scientist. The product that will have starch starch will change the color, like that color will change, such as: Aloo, Chowlaor, Choule, Chowler, Corn, Cornfall, Cornfall, Cornfall, Cornfall, Carnaflore and Raw Banana. It is scary that such unqualified people are taken seriously. ”
In her video, Sarthak also performed iodine test on Bobby Deol, Shilpa Shetty and Virat Kohli’s restaurant’s restaurant. When the color of Gauri Khan’s restaurant Tory became black, Sarthak announced that it was a fake cheese. As soon as his claims caught attention, the restaurant issued an official statement, which said, “We are fully surprised by the news of the ‘fake cheese’ being served in Tory. Iodine shows the present starch, the cheese is real or fake is not proved. This reaction is normal in all the dishes. We guarantee the purity of the food we serve. ”
Iodine test for cheese?
Iodine test is performed to check the adulteration of starch in cheese. If the color of the cheese turns blue or black when mixed iodine tincture, it means starch present in it, which shows that it can be adulterated. Pure cheese is made from milk protein and should not be blue or black when Iodine test. To test, a piece of iodine tincture is put in a piece of cheese. There is no change in color means that it is pure and it shows that it contains starch in color.
