In a major breakthrough, the Mumbai Police in Maharashtra arrested Bangladeshi transgender woman Jyoti alias Ayaan Khan alias Guru Maa, who had been living in India for the past 30 years with the help of fake Indian documents. Police investigation revealed that Jyoti’s real name is Babu Ayan Khan, and she was active in Govandi, Rafiq Nagar, Kurla, Deonar, Narpoli and Trombay areas of Mumbai. She is said to have more than 300 followers, who call her Guru Maa. According to police information, Shivaji Nagar police arrested several Bangladeshi transgender women from Rafiq Nagar area in March 2025. At that time, Jyoti’s documents were also checked, but she did not have Aadhaar, PAN and other valid documents. That is why he was released at that point. After thorough verification of his documents of more than 20 houses in Mumbai, all the certificates were found to be fake. The police have now arrested him. The investigation also revealed that Jyoti owned more than 20 houses in Mumbai, many of which were in Rafiq Nagar and Govandi areas. His followers live in these houses and consider her as their Guru Maa, but now their conspiracy has been exposed. The police investigating the case have registered a case against Jyoti alias Ayaan Khan under various sections of the Passport Act and the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigating authorities are now trying to find out how she was able to stay in India for so long by using false documents and who was involved. Full investigation is ongoing.
