Svechnikov, Andersen leads Hurricanes past capitals with 4-0 in Game 3 of the 2nd round play-off series

Raleigh, NC (AP) -Anrei Svechnikov hit a loose facial coil for his sixth post-season goal, while Frederik Andersen had 21 savings, as the Carolina Hurricanes beat the Washington Capitals 4-0 on Saturday night for a 2-1 lead. Svechnikov jumped in the circle to beat John Carlson against the Puck and beat Logan Thompson at 12:34 for the first goal of the match at the beginning of the Carolina game boom. Jack Roslovic added a power goal late in the second period for the Hurricanes, while Eric Robinson charged the left to beat Thompson in third place to make it 3-0. Jackson Blake made a finish of a power play near the post when the Hurricanes at home improved to 4-0 in the playoffs. The Hurricanes dominated the game in the series opener, but Jaccob needs slave’s overtime goal to push through the road. The capitals did a better job to counter Game 2 and tie the series behind a strong two -way effort by Tom Wilson. The capitals apparently reversed the screenplay on Carolina with a strong start, which included that Andersen had to stand up against an immediate skating chance by Wilson and an early shot of Taylor Raddysh, while the Hurricanes struggled to get to their aggressive play. And Andersen was strong throughout – carrying the load until the Hurricanes eventually argued control as soon as Svechnikov broke the scoreless tie. In fact, Washington has only one shot through 14 critical minutes of the second management, which was stretched over Svechnikov’s score and before Roslovic’s finish of the human foreground. Thompson ended with 24 savings for Washington, while the capitals achieved only ten shots in the last 39 minutes. Game 4 in the best seven is in Raleigh on Monday night. ___
