Total sales of electric vehicles in India have crossed 61 Lakh units by the end of FY 2025
New -Delhi, April 18 (IANS). By March 31, 2025, the sale of electric vehicles in the country became 61,65,964 units. A total of 2 million units EV sold during FY 2025. This information was given in a recent report released. According to JMK Research’s ‘Annual India EV Report Card: FY 2025’, more than 50 percent of total sales of registered electrical two -wheelers (elements) had a share. This was followed by Passenger Electric Three Wheelers (EthrimW-P), which erected about 36 percent of the EV market in India in FY 2025. The ETAWW segment recorded a 19 percent increase in FY 2025 annually. The name Ola Electric, TVs Motors and Bajaj were included in the top three achievements in the registered element category, of which the joint market share in the segment was about 70 percent. At the same time, the Ethriw segment recorded an 11 percent increase in FY 2025 annually, which includes both passengers and cargo vehicles. The passenger segment was the Mahindra Last Mile Mobility, Bajaj Auto and YC Electric Top Performer Company, whose joint stake in the segment was a total of 25 percent. All three companies also recorded 19 percent a cumulative shares in the cargo segment. In addition, the financial year 2025 also recorded an 11 percent increase in an annual basis for the sale of electric car. Tata Motors was the most important player with an electric car, with a total market share of 53 percent. This was followed by second place with a 28 percent -MG car. According to the report, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Delhi remained the top five states for EV sales by March 2025, with a joint market share of 50 percent.
