Jakarta – Secretary -General of the Golkar Party Sarmuji assessed that the appointment of Mukhtarudin as Minister of Protection of Indonesian Migrant Workers (P2MI) was a great mandate because it involved the strategic interests of the country. Sarmuji is optimistic that the cadres can perform the task well. “The field of the protection of Indonesian migrant workers is a very strategic field because it involves the mandate of the Constitution. Our country is based on the 1945 Constitution which clearly states that the state is present to protect all Indonesian countries and all Indonesian blood dumps, including Indonesian citizens working abroad,” Sarmuji told Sarmuji on Thursday. The chairman of the Golkar faction of the Indonesian parliament emphasized that trained Indonesian migrant workers can protect themselves from different risks. It is important to have the challenges of migrant workers not only a matter of employment contracts, but also about the ability to adjust their rights, protect their rights, to face potential threats abroad. “Indonesian migrant workers who are increasingly trained and trained will be more able to protect themselves. They will be more confident, more independent and more resilient to stare at the dynamics in the country where they work,” Sarmuji said.
