Mumbai: Armed robbery at Jewelery Shop in Ghatkopar, owner injured

Mumbai, October 15 (IANS). Two unidentified persons committed armed robbery with Darshan jewelery in Ghatkopar (West) in Mumbai. The shop owner was seriously injured in this incident. According to police, one of the accused had a helicopter and the other a gun. After the incident, both accused fled the place, while the third suspect, who was waiting outside the store, fled on foot. Rakesh Ola, Deputy Commissioner of Mumbai Police, said the incident happened in the morning when the shop owner cleaned his shop. According to the complainant, two unidentified persons entered the store, one of whom held a knife to his neck and the other with a gun. He further said that the accused was trying to rob the tray of jewelry. When the owner tried to stop them, one of the accused attacked him on his neck with a knife. The owner who was injured in the attack was immediately admitted to hospital where he underwent treatment. It is not yet clear how much jewelry the accused looted, as the injured owner did not get the chance to inspect the store. DCP Ola said: “We registered a case against unknown persons and a special team was established to look for them.” Police also revealed that the two main accused fled on a motorcycle, while the third suspect, who was watching outside, fled on foot. Ghatkopar police and Mumbai crime branch teams are investigating the matter jointly. Police scan near CCTV footage and question local people to identify the suspects. According to eyewitnesses, the locals tried to chase the accused after the incident, but they ran away quickly. The incident occurred broadly in the busy Ghatkopar area of ​​Mumbai, which created panic among local traders and residents.
