2,000 researchers from the upper campus are a map of the transmigration area deployed
Jakarta – The Ministry of Transmigration will deploy 2000 researchers from the seven best tertiary institutions in Indonesia through the Patriot Expedition Team (TEP) program. This program aims to map the potential of the local environment to have a high competition value to encourage the improvement of the community’s economy. Minister of Transmigration, M. IFTITAH Sulaiman Suryanagara said TEP will go directly to the field to identify leading resources, investment opportunities and infrastructure needs in transmigration and surrounding areas. “We want to ensure that each region has a clear potential map. In this way, the transmigration area can develop into a center of new economic growth,” IFTITAH said in a written statement, Wednesday (7/30/2025) to continue with the content he was on the sidelines of his visit to the training and community empowerment center (BPPMT) on Tuesday (29/7). In more detail, IFTITAH explained that the researchers concerned come from seven well -known universities in Indonesia, namely ITB, UNPAD, ITS, UI, UGM, IPB, and UNDIP with diverse scientific backgrounds, ranging from agriculture, fisheries, economics, to technology. The Ministry of Transmigration is aimed at the results of this mapping that must be used by local governments, business and community to develop local potential optimally. “The results of the TEP study will form the basis for development planning that is right and sustainable. We want to create a transmigration area that is independent, advanced and very competitive, so that the well -being of the community has actually increased,” Iftitah concluded. Distribution in the current transmigration program is not only an equal distribution of the population, but the focus is to make a strategy to Indonesia advanced. Namely the distribution of knowledge to the transmigration community to map local potential to improve the welfare and economic level, affecting the economic growth of national scale. (Akn/Ega)
