Narayan Bhai Desai was an Indian Gandhian and writer. He was the son of Mahadev Haribhai Desai, the reliable secretary of Mahatma Gandhi. Mahadev Desai recorded Mahatma Gandhi’s speech, writing and work in his diary for 25 years. He also translated Gandhiji’s autobiography into English. Mahadev Desai is also expected to write a detailed biography of Gandhiji, who could not do it because of his death in prison. In this background, Narayan Bhai Desai, son of Mahadev Desai, wrote a biography of Gandhiji in four major divisions titled ‘Maru Jeevan Aaj Mari vani’. He was awarded the ‘Murthy Devi Award’ for this book in 2004. Jeevan Introduction Narayan Bhai Desai was born in Saras Village in the Surat district. His father Mahadev Haribhai Desai was the secretary of Mahatma Gandhi. Narayan Bhai, who inspired and enriched Sarvodaya James, was born to Mahadev Desai and Mahatma Gandhi’s secretary Durga Ben in a small village in Gujarat and now he was 90 years old. He spent 20 years of his life with Mahatma Gandhi. He was an active worker of Sarvodaya thinking and anti -nuclear movement. He was a worker from Bhoodan, Gramman, Shanti Sena, Lok Samiti, Sarvseva Sangh and the front line of the entire Revolution movement formed for rioting control. Most of his time was spent in Sarva Seva Sangh. Eccentric talent at what age does not have knowledge of the assessment of schools and teachers. At that age, if a child rejects the best school on the very first day, it will be a sign of his unique talent. Narayan Bhai Desai’s name is also included in people with such extraordinary talent. The reason is that he has already declared a famous school in Wardha a failure. He decided not to go to school the next day when he was not good. Narayan Desai was a close employee of Narayan Desai Vinoba Bhave and Jayaprakash Narayan in the NA Dependence of India. He is also known as the author of Gujarati Language. He received the statue of Jnanpith for his father and Gandhiji’s biography in Gujarati for the biography of his father and Gandhiji, Mahadev Desai for 25 years, ‘Agnikund in Gulab’ – ‘Maru Jeevan Ez Mari vani’ in Gujarati. Narayan Desai has played an active role in many national movements such as Bhoodan Movement, Sampoorna Kranti movement. He also led the Shanti Sena during the riots. As a result of his activism in the Bihar movement, the then state government expelled him from Bihar. He played a leading role in the International Anti-War movement and supported the establishment of Sampura Kranti Movement School for activist training. He is survived by daughter Sanghamitra, sons Nachiketa Desai and Aftatun Desai. Narayanbhai’s wife passed away 26 years ago. Narayanbhai received several literary awards, including the Sahitya Akademi Award, Murtidevi Award and Shanti Award from UNESCO. Narayanbhai enjoyed collaboration near Mahatma Gandhi, Vinoba Bhave and Loknayak Jayaprakash Narayan in his social life of over 75 years. Needless to say, he grew up in Gandhi’s lap. He was also the Chancellor of Gujarat University. Narayan Bhai Desai wrote dozens of books in Hindi, Gujarati and English. The compositions emerged from the inside because of the pain that he could do nothing during the 2002 riots in Gujarat, and he completed 108 episodes of Gandhi Katha in the country and abroad. As a reconciliation for the Gujarat massacre in 2002, Narayanbhai Gandhikat-Dhan began conveying the message of all religious equality to the people. The way he described the important events in Gandhi’s life was unique. Narayan Bhai Desai wrote dozens of books in Hindi, Gujarati and English. He has written literature in Gujarati, Hindi and English and will also be remembered for editing various magazines against ‘Dictatorshi’ during the emergency. Narayanbhai never went to any school or college, but he had equal rights in English, Bangla, Oriya, Marathi, Gujarati, Sanskrit and Hindi. He wrote and spoke fluently in all these languages. He was also the Chancellor of Gujarat University. He did a wonderful job of connecting people’s lives with Gandhi’s inspirational lives by telling 89 Gandhi stories outside India and outside India. The story was free and the money received from charity was used to promote Sarvodaya literature. He received many awards, including Unesco Peace Prize, Central -Sahitya Akademi, Jamnalal Bajaj, Murtidevi, Umashankar Snararamshi, Ranjitram Suvrana Chandrak, Narmad Chandrak and Darakash. Death Narayan Bhai Desai died on March 15, 2015 in a village called Vedchi in the Valsad district Gujarat. In a compassion message released on Twitter, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “Narayan Bhai Desai will be known as a scholar who brought Gandhi closer to the public. The news of his death was deep sad.”
