National Conference XII Perwosi appoints Tri Tito Karnavian as chairman for the 2025-2029 period

Jakarta-Tri Tito Karnavian was re-elected in 2025 as general chairman of the All Indonesian Sports Women’s Association (Perwosi) by the XII Perwosi National Conference (Munas). Tri was elected with the full support of 32 Perwosi representatives, and will lead the organization for the 2025-2029 period. It is his third term that serves as General President of Perwosi. Tri said that in itself it was a challenge to be re -elected as chairman, considering that Perwosi was 58 years old. He emphasized the importance of continuing the legacy of the founders, so that Perwosi remains an organization that plays an active role in supporting the progress of sports in Indonesia. “We know that women, especially mothers, are managers in the household who determine how their sons and daughters and their families will be healthy. One way to be healthy is, apart from eating nutritious food, of course by practicing,” Tri said in a written statement on Saturday (11/10/2025). Parents invite their children more often to do recreational activities, such as going to malls in urban areas, rather than playing sports. It differs from developed countries, where sports have become part of their lifestyle and personal needs since childhood. In Indonesia, this habit can begin to be built when mothers understand the importance of exercise for the family. “I really want us all to move it forward. If we had higher education, we might give advice to our families about practice,” Tri explained. “But for mothers who are a lower middle class, exercise can only be a need that is not primary,” he continued. Tri invites the entire community to work together to cultivate sports. In addition, Tri believes that the increase in degenerative diseases such as diabetes, heart disease and hypertension, now experienced by many young people, is an important warning about unhealthy lifestyles. This condition is closely related to a diet that has been balanced with many calories, fat and little nutrition, which is not balanced with physical activity. Therefore, Tri encourages all Perwosi members to make sports a lifestyle, both within the family and in the community. This effort is in line with the theme of the 2025 XII Perwosi National Conference, “the role of the family in improving the quality of public health”. Tri explained that Perwosi as a female organization has an important mandate to raise public awareness of the importance of sports and health. Both are great investments to create excellent and competitive human resources (HR). In addition, sports are also part of the ASTA Cita program of Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto. On that occasion, Tri directly appreciated the presence of 32 provincial administrators. This reflects Perwosi’s real efforts and enthusiasm in building a national sports movement. Tri also appreciated the new administrators of the Southwest Papua and Mountain Papua provinces. “Hopefully in the regions, there will also be activities that are once a year, greater in nature, so that Perwosi’s activities are known to the public, and also our efforts to practice a campaign for a healthy lifestyle,” says Tri. Furthermore, Tri also expressed his gratitude for the support of the Indonesian National Sports Committee (Koni), which was Perwosi’s strategic partner, at central and regional level, to encourage organizational progress and development of national sports. “Once again, we would like to thank Koni, who will hopefully continue to work together as long as we are Perwosi administrators,” Tri said. For information, the 2025 XII Perwosi National Conference was also attended by Koni Secretary General (Sekjen) Lukman Djajadicuma, chairman of the XII Perwosi National Conference Committee Dini Rahmi, as well as the provincial chairman of Perwosi and all staff members.
