Manish Sureshkumar of Tamil Nadu and Vaishnavi Adakar of Maharashtra won the men’s and women’s singles title on the 30th National Tennis Championships in the DLTA complex in New -Delhi on Saturday. Manish Sureshkumar defeated Kirtiivasan Suresh 6-4, 6-2 in a two-hour match in the final of the men’s singles. Both players made an aggressive start and after the initial service breakdown, the score was equal to 1-1. After this, Manish Kirtiivasan’s service broke and took a 2-1 lead and made the score 3-1. Kirtiivasan made a strong return and broke his service and took a 4-3 guidance. However, Manish broke the service again and took the first set. Manish also retained the rhythm in the second set and won the 6-2 set of Jeet -male singles, with long rallies with exact foundation as well as strong returns. In the final of the women’s singles, Vaishnavi defeated Akanksha Nitture 6–1, 6–2. In the under-18 category, Harshini beat a Snigdha Kanta 6-1, 2-6, 6-4 in a tough girl singles for more than three hours. In the single final of the boys, Tavish Pahwa Hrithik defeated Katkam 7-6 (2), 1-0 (retired), as cat comb was withdrawn from the match due to the injury. Meanwhile, Nitin Kumar Sinha and Manish Sureshkumar and Abhinav Sjev s in the men’s double final and Abhinav Sjeev s in an exciting match 6-4, 3-6. [10-5] Akanksha Niture, along with Soha Sadiq, defeated by in the Women’s Doubles category, Pooja Ingale and defeated Yubani Banerjee 6-2, 6–2. Askj H. Gohil and Prakash Saran gave Karan Thapa and Channamalikarjun Yale 2-6, 7-5, in the exciting finals of the Boys Under-18 doubles category.
