According to official sources, there was a leak due to the construction work done by the irrigation department. Sources said: “An economic machine deployed to convert the pipe into a dead climate dug the ground as the equipment collided with the pipeline and leak.” However, the irrigation department officials controlled the situation and notified the Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) officials, who deliver PNG through the pipeline. Arun Munjal, executive engineer of the irrigation department, said: “We also informed the police and the fire department. The area was besieged to stop any unforeseen incident and the traffic was derived.” He said the notice board shows that a pipeline is going through the area, but that the economy machine operator/contractor did not see the notice board as it was installed at a distance from the scene.
