NEIDA: e-cycle scheme 'zero', even in five years, 62 docking stations built after spending 2 crores

Noida, September 20 (IANS). The ambitious e-cycle scheme of Noida Authority was limited to just papers. In the year 2021, the scheme was launched for the purpose of strengthening the local transport of the city. Below, a total of 62 docking stations are built on different commercial, industrial, institutional and important roads of the IT sector. Each station was designed in such a way that at least 10 e voters could be erected in it. But despite the course of five years, the scheme was completely failed and the accused stations remained only as a way of being surrounded by land. According to the information, approximately Rs 2 crore was spent on the erection of these docking stations. Not only that, electricity connection from UPPCL is also provided for e-cycle load. But by 2023, the scheme came to a standstill and e-cycles had disappeared from the roads. Experts believe that the country is extremely valuable and that the government receives revenue from crores every year from schemes such as kiosk here. In such a situation, the 62 docks were a loss agreement for the authority in the first place. If these stations built on about 550 square meters were used for other schemes, the income would not have increased not only, but the locals would also gain ease. At the beginning of the plan, it was claimed to reduce about 1125 tonnes of carbon emissions each year. But since bikes couldn’t even run a month, this goal also remained incomplete. Experts believe that the NTC division for five years has only limited the action to notice. The process of blacklisting the company also starts, but every time the director of the company was replaced and the case was pending. According to the rules, the company was allowed to advertise in an area of 50 m² at Dock Stations, but it broke the rules and began advertising by placing Unipol outside. Action continued to postpone it. It is clear that some officials deliberately pressed the files and did not allow the entire case to reach the higher officials. As a result, the e-cycle scheme could not benefit the public, even after distributing the rupees, and the Noida authority suffered great losses. -Ians PKT/DSC shares this story Tags
