NEIDA, OCTOBER 7 (IANS). Noida police have had great success amid increasing cases of cybercrime. The police station has arrested a member of the gang that cheated digitally. The accused conveyed himself Rs 40 Lakh in the name of investigation of a woman from Greater Noida and called himself a police officer. Police showed readiness, frozen the bank accounts involved in the case immediately and strengthened the investigation. According to the information, a female resident of Greater Noida filed a case in the police station on August 21. The victim said some unknown cyber criminals described themselves as a police officer and digitally arrested her and conveyed about 40 lakh calls from her account in the name of the investigation. In light of the seriousness of the case, the police immediately began the investigation. During the investigation, police arrested accused Rakesh Putra Pawan Kumar (29 years old) of the Panipat district of Haryana on October 7. During interrogation, Rakesh revealed that he was doing a private work in Panipat and that he met a person named Karan, who is active in cyber crimes. The two carried out this fraud together. So far, they have withdrawn an amount of Rs 4,98,703, both of which spread as commissions. Accused Rakesh also provided muel bank accounts to cyber criminals. While his partner Karan is currently submitting in the Karnal jail in Haryana. Police have recovered a cellphone that is used to cheat the accused and are being done further. Cyber crime police have advised citizens to be aware that it does not immediately believe the WhatsApp or video call made by any unknown person, or the front should submit himself as a government official or a policeman. Verify the information given in the call from the Google or the relevant department website. If a call tries to intimidate a parcel, bank account or in the name of legal action, instead of panic, contact the nearest police station or cyber cell immediately. Also, do not share information related to your Aadhaar or Bank to any person. Police said cyber thugs, in cases of such ‘digital arrest’, intimidate people and withdraw a large amount from their bank accounts.
